What we’re about

Greetings lovely beings! I have created this group for people who eat a plant based diet (and also avoid animal products) and who are also neurodivergent/neuro spicy, highly sensitive and/or living with mental health challenges. If you want to meet other vegans and also have a safe space to talk about mental health, this is the group for you. I have come to realise that I only have two friends who are vegetarian or vegan. I feel alone in the world, like no body else gives a shit about animals, and then struggling with my mental health on top of this makes me feel doubly isolated.

I am open to your ideas about what you'd like to do. I imagine we will check out the various vegan food joints around Melbourne. I live in the Dandenong Ranges so a lot of our meet ups will be out this way. I find cafes overwhelming, so will be organising a lot of outdoor events like picnics, take away or outdoor dining. I love being in nature and hope you do too. I recon it'd be cool to do some environmental, animal welfare and mental health activism together as well. And we just hang out and do things completely unrelated to being vegan such as movies, rollerblading, op shopping, markets, walks in the forest and swimming.

Vegetarians are welcome, but I would like to keep the food we order vegan please.

Please change your RSVP if you are no longer coming. No shows may mean removal from the group. It does really mess me around when someone says they're coming and they don't. I don't want to make the effort to attend because I think other people are coming (especially when it involves a lot of travel for me), then just sit there and no one shows up. Sometimes your RSVP makes the difference between me cancelling the event and still holding it.
