What we’re about
**ALL IN-PERSON EVENTS WILL BE HELD IN OR AROUND LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM**
A group for all adult (18+) women that are neurodivergent or who’ve maybe taken the AQ test for adult autism, wondered, and want to explore possible autism free from medicalisation and ‘male brain’ theories. There’s really not much known and even less support for women that are autistic and/or neurodivergent in other ways so one of the points of this group is to explore autism and neurodivergence in women and the other is to create our own community networks and critical definitions.
This isn’t a mental health support group, it’s about a place to be ourselves. We’re interested in self-definition, critical theories of neurodiversity, fluid identities, alternative therapies and in what is needed for autistic women to enjoy life. We’re also interested in making better use of digital tools to collaborate and reduce isolation. If you are looking for mental health support, please view our resource page (linked below).
You can view our group policy here. Please be respectful of communication and sensory issues and note that we can’t always accommodate mental health co-(or other)diagnoses. Everyone talking at once through to lurking in the background are absolutely fine as long the space stays constructive and bearable for auties. Come and go as you please, post to comments if you have questions or want to touch base before coming along in person.

Please note this is a trans-inclusive space welcome to both cis and trans women. We have previously admitted all non-binary people however as this is a women's group, it is inappropriate as non-binary people are not 'woman-lite' and they have their own distinct and varied gender identities.
However, if you are non-binary with an experience of womanhood or are trans femme, you are welcome to join the group.

What is Autistic Spectrum/ ADHD Women?
Autism Spectrum/ ADHD women is our monthly online meeting where we sit and chat about a topic related to autism / ADHD usually starts with a quick introduction from everyone (who is willing), followed by an introduction to the topic and a laid-back informal discussion.
We aim to be as low-key as possible, but to avoid trolls there may be a delay if you are new while we confirm you.
Feel free to arrive and leave when you're ready, talk or lurk - no pressure. There's also a chat feature if you'd prefer to communicate in that way.
We ask that, to avoid noise and disruption, you please keep your microphone muted when you are not speaking.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this Sunday to chat over tea and cake in the comfort of your own home - and be in a welcoming space.

Not open - Bouldering in Ravenscourt Park – read description carefullyRavensWall, London
WILL BE CANCELLED IF LESS THAN 5 PEOPLE RSVP. DOUBLE CHECK DAY BEFORE
We're heading to RavensWall in Ravenscourt park for a bit of bouldering.
If you're running late no problem, just join in when you get there – I’ll let you know where I am/what I’m wearing on the day. You can come dressed for the climb or change there (they have changing rooms and showers - I think you can ask at the reception for a towel if you want to shower)
I’ve been bouldering for just over a year so may be able to provide advice but it’s not going to be a lesson or coaching just a friendly get-together where we boulder (also, the best thing you can do is just start at the first level and try, literally what I did). Come join in the fun whatever your ability. If you’ve never been climbing before read this to know what to expect.
If you've not been to an LCC gym before you'll need to check safety information and sign up for a £2 fee. Filling in the forms here beforehand will save time on the day.Price for bouldering is £16.50 + shoe hire, if you don’t have your own (£4), and optional chalk hire (£2.50). Concessions for students or people with a PIP award letter, Blue Badge, Freedom Card, Disabled Persons Railcard, National Disabled Identification (DID) Card or doctor’s note confirming disability are available (£14.50). I’ll have some liquid chalk people can borrow if we’re small but if the group’s large this may not be possible.
I’ve put the end time as 10:15pm because the centre closes at 10:30pm but you’re welcome to leave earlier (I’ll leave whenever the majority of the group’s ready to) and we can get a drink/food at ‘Spoons near Hammersmith station or one of the fast food places in Hammersmith station (my guilty pleasure has to be Popeyes) if people want to. It’s not continuous climbing though, you have to rest between climbs.
The centre runs their Newbie Social every Tuesday from 7-8:30pm (included in entry fee) where there’ll be an instructor around to help if you’d rather join that or want to join some of that and then stay for some (or all) of this
Also, please note, there will be music playing (I’ve noticed some climbers have earphones in to listen to their own tunes or drown it out but I don’t, I actually prefer not to be in complete silence when climbing, so I’m mot sure which are best for that but a quick Google or ChatGPT search will probably tell you) and I can’t guarantee how busy the centre will be.
