About us
Professional screen writer or just starting out, this is the place for you.
We will be meeting @ a time and date yet to be determined in Las Vegas.
The format will be different than previous, as we will be focused more on the mechanics of how to transform your great idea and shape it into a professional screenplay. All attendees will get a chance to share their idea with the group in a "elevator pitch" format. We will also spend time discussing the business aspects of the entertainment industry with potential guest speakers to share their insights.
When we can, we will be reading pages from your scripts. If you have 10 pages that you would like to see/hear performed then let me know and we will try to schedule for a reading.

Nevada Scripties to Meet in March
Los Prados Golf & Country Club, 5150 Los Prados Circle, Las Vegas, NV, USMy Apologies
I apologies for not writing or setting up a meeting for a couple of months. No excuses but I am retired and getting older, and I sure am busy.
Our Next Meeting
Wednesday, March 18 – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Los Prados Golf Course Community Clubhouse Library – main entrance on Lone Mountain Rd between Jones and Decatur (3 blocks east of the Santa Fe Casino). Tell the guard at the guard house that you are there for a Nevada Scripties meeting in the Library.
Our Meet-Up is Different
Most writing Meet-Ups only allow you a few minutes to present your work and the “criticism” is usually lame. In our meeting you will have plenty of time to showcase your writing and the comments will really be helpful.
When you come to our meeting, please bring the outline for the script you are working on. Whether it is just a Beginning, Middle or Ending, or you’ve worked out the 15 Beats from Blake Snyder’s “Save The Cat!” method, or you’ve written an entire Treatment.
If you don’t have a story idea (and why not?) come to the meeting to give your comments and see how other writers work. It will still be a great learning experience.
About Me
I am retired now but I used to be a professional stagehand. Then I became a technical writer. Now I write creatively: Scripts, Novels, How-To Books, and Song Lyrics.
At the end of my messages, I might point you to something I have created. If you have published works please let me know and I will include your links as well.
I took a comedy writing class a few years back and the most important thing that I learned was that, “A writer writes, every day.” What are you working on?
Something I learned on my own is that there is no such thing as “writers block.” Don’t try to be perfect on the first go round, You WILL edit your work. Probably several times. But if you don’t have anything on the page, there is nothing to edit.
Enough preaching for now.
That’s it for now. See you on March 18.
