Ramapo Mountain Free Hike

Only heavy rain can stop us!

Dear verticals, it's time for another hike to Garden State, where the beautiful Ramapo Valley awaits us.
We will be passing blue lakes and ponds, rivers and creeks and end up by the ruins of Van Slyke castle.
We will have lunch by the Cannonball trail and return back to the Big apple the same day.
Please note, that this is not a loop hike!

08:20 AM - Meeting in front of Jay's Hallmark Shop at Port Authority Bus Terminal (2d floor)
09:10 AM - Departure from Port Authority Bus Terminal, NY to Sloatsburg, NY.
10:07 AM - Arriving at Sloatsburg.
10:35 AM - meeting the other part of the group at Dunkin (59 Orange Turnpike, Sloatsburg, NY).
11:10 AM - Reaching Potake pond and starting hiking.
01:00 PM - Lunch at the trail.
05:00 PM - Reaching the Van Slyke Castle.
05:40 PM - Reaching the Ramapo Lake trailhead.
06:20 PM - Reaching Ridgewood, NJ.
06:40 PM - Taking a train from Ridgewood, NJ to Penn Station, NY.
07:37 PM - Arriving at Penn Station, NY.

***USEFUL INFO***
Total distance about 15 miles (please keep this into consideration as this hike is NOT for rookies).
Total elevation 1500 ft.
Hiking shoes are highly suggested.
Please bring the food and enough water for the full day as there will be no shops during the hike.

Way to: Buss from Port Authority Bus Terminal to Rt 17 & Mill St - Sloatsburg - Sloatsburg, NY
Way back: Uber share to Ridgewood Station and then train to PENN Station
