Tumwater Falls picnic and salmon encouragement

The salmon are running!

If you've never been (and even if you have) you should definitely check out the salmon ladders and hatchery at Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls. We can go on a mellow short (0.5 miles) walk down to the lower falls, and hopefully we can watch salmon jumping up in various places. The water is low right now - they need all the moral support they can get!

Plus, let's have a little picnic. It's a beautiful park, even if the weather will be a little chilly. Anyway, bring some snacks if you like. Note: we will not be attempting to catch and eat any salmon. They are for viewing purposes only. We are there to encourage them, not eat them.
