We have decided to change our name because we are starting a new beginning in Meetup.
# Welcome to our Meetup!
We are delighted to have you join our meetup group, New Beginnings for 55 and beyond. Our meetup is a place for like-minded individuals to meet new friends and have fun with existing friends. We host a variety of events in the Charlotte, North Carolina and South Carolina metro areas designed to cater to the diverse interest of our members. We can mingle, talk, and have fun, whether it be dancing, dining, movies, visiting wine venues, concerts in the parks, playing miniature golf, etc.
## Goals
· We offer warm and inviting venues for anyone over 55 who wants to experience New Beginnings. You may be recently divorced, widowed, or single and want to attend events with like-minded members.
· We expect everyone to treat one another kindly and with respect. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
· We are here to support one another in our journey through life and encourage kindness, friendship, and a place to feel comfortable and welcomed.
· We welcome suggestions from members on event ideas and encourage those who would like to host an event to volunteer.
· At least twice a year we will meet with event hosts to discuss suggestions on improvements.
## Guidelines
We have established the following guidelines:
· Our group has an annual dues policy of $20, which covers the utilization of the Meetup website.
· Respect: Treat all members with respect and courtesy. We will not tolerate discriminatory or offensive behavior.
· Respectful of waitlists: We usually have a waitlist and if you cannot attend, please be respectful and change your RSVP to not going at least 48 hours in advance. This gives the next person on the waitlist an opportunity to attend.
· Two or more events can be posted on the same day.
· We require that your profile clearly shows your face only, not a group photo, so that members will recognize you as part of our group at social events.
· Derogatory comments should not be posted on the event page on the website or meetup app. If you have a complaint, send it by private message to the host.
· We will not get involved in domestic disputes.
