Employment Standards in BC

This will be an overall introduction to the Employment Standards Act and will include such topics as:

• Who/what is covered by the Act
• Wages/minimum wage/ overtime/vacation pay/stat holiday pay/wage statements
• Compensation for length of service (if fired)
• Where to find information
• How to make a complaint and the complaint process

BC Newcomer Services Program (BCNSP) is one of the many programs within S.U.C.C.E.S.S., a multicultural, multi-service social service agency. BCNSP is gratefully funded by the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills to provide support to post-secondary international students, foreign workers who hold a valid work permit, PNP nominees, refugee claimants and naturalized citizens in employment, settlement, and exploring immigration pathways.
