What we’re about
Love to play games? Join us on Monday evenings. We meet every Monday at 7:00pm. We play all kinds of games--party, strategy, card and board games--join a game or bring your own game to share. All players aged 18 to 80 are invited! This meetup is part of the FAN Alliance. The FAN Alliance is a series of related general activities meetups. The FAN Alliance does not discriminate with the exception that you are expected to be an adult nor do we charge event or membership fees. The goal of this alliance is that it is a fun and safe environment for everyone. By joining you are implicitly agreeing to respect other members privacy. Second Saturday Special: Real Time!
Eric's House, 16 Woodhaven Circle, Merrimack, NH, USThe Second Saturday Special is an irregular series of game events (individually scheduled, not automatically recurring) with varying themes. Today’s theme is games played in real time (and with soundtracks), either with no turns (everybody playing all the time) or sand timers (everybody playing 60 turns in 30 minutes). These are more playful and frenetic than the heavy-ish games I often play.
We will start with Time ’n’ Space, an action-selection pickup-and-deliver game. Two timers regulate your moves. In 30 minutes, you produce and transport goods, place and fill orders, and research and upgrade facilities.
Then we move on to Escape: The Curse of the Temple. This is a rare cooperative game in my collection. In ten minutes, we explore a temple, find magic gems, and make our exit. After the base game, we will play again with treasure to find and curses to suffer and lift.
Third is Spaceteam, a fast-paced cooperative shouting card game. Everybody needs tools to fix malfunctions in their sector of the ship and plays and shouts at the same time as other players.
To limit my calories, this is a non-food event. Do not bring any food to share. You may bring some food for yourself if necessary, but generally folks should plan to eat before and after the event, not during. Beverages okay, water available.
Note: I am attending a game event at Nashua Public Library before this. I will make an effort to get home before 3 p.m., but do not worry if I am a little late. Feel free to join us at the earlier event.
RSVPs are initially limited to four people, but please sign up if you want to join us. If the wait list grows enough for a second table, I will open it up.
Participants must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
