You're Invited to a Palmer-Warner Open House

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the 1st floor of the house & walk the historic grounds. View the progress on the Palmer-Warner Barn restoration project. Connecticut Landmarks is preparing to open the property to highlight its important history. Free!
The 50-acre Palmer-Warner property in East Haddam was home to preservation architect Frederic Palmer & his partner Howard Metzger from 1945 - 1971. The rich material culture collection includes American Colonial, Victorian & Colonial Revival furniture; porcelain, glass, & silver; paintings & decorative objects; & many personal belongings. The archives encompass Palmer's architectural papers & drawings; personal photographs; correspondence between Palmer & Metzger during WWII; & Metzger's correspondence & papers.
