NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY at BOSTON HARBOR

This workshop is all about shooting and hand-on practice. We will meet in Boston on the BOSTON HARBORWALK (http://www.bostonharborwalk.com/index.php) and spend a few hours photographing the night scenes of the city and harbor. Photographer Dan Splaine will guide you through low light and night photo techniques and will be on hand to guide your photography.

This will be chance to explore the cityscape at night, to capture the city lights and harbor scenes at their https://origin.ih.constantcontact.com/fs086/1104207082630/img/22.jpg nocturnal best. Low light and night photography can be shot with standard point and shoot digital cameras as well as Digital SLR cameras so this workshop is open to all skill levels. In addition to your camera you will definitely need a tripod for this type of shooting. You may also want to consider bringing an electronic flash to experiment with during the long duration night exposures.

Night photography is challenging and can provide remarkable results and dramatic images. The waterfront of Boston at night provides many striking points of view to photograph. We will meet On Central Wharf in front of the New England Aquarium (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?q=New+England+Aquarium&cid=1145650243171871787) (look for the gaggle of tripods) at 7pm. From there we can wander along the Boston Harbor walk to capture the night scenery.

Prior to the workshop I will send you a GUIDE TO SHOOTING IN LOW LIGHT AND NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY for your review prior to the vent. Use this guide to introduce yourself to the techniques and spend the workshop practicing the skills described. We will go over some of the techniques during the shoot but the guide will jump start you results.

This class will be held at the BOSTON HARBORWALK (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?q=New+England+Aquarium&cid=1145650243171871787) on Thursday October 6, 2011 from 7pm to 9 pm. The cost for this workshop is $20 per person and payment is required to register.
