We had a false positive but now the truth is confirmed. I beat Stage 4 cancer!

The Backstory
All my life I had a lump. I had it checked out a few times but no concerns. Then 2 years ago, the lump grew.

I got sick with something else. Sicker and sicker but I didn’t know what was wrong. Frequently I was fainting, constipated, tired beyond belief.

My close friend took me to the ER 5 times in a year. Then the sixth time I went to the hospital and I got answers. The scan found out why I felt so sick… and it also found cancer.

The Prognosis - 4-5 years to live

On my birthday last August I got the biopsy. A few days later, a bigger shock - the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes and bone. I have Stage 4 breast cancer.

At the appointment the oncologist asked, “What are your goals in life?”

I said, “To fall in love, buy a house, raise a family…” normal things for anyone my age.

She told me to let my dreams die. Average survival is 4-5 years with this aggressive cancer. Give up on having children. Make peace with your life. You’ll be lucky if you make it to 40.

My oncologist thought cancer would beat me. I knew better. I showed her better. I completed chemo with miraculous results.

I beat cancer.

We had a false celebration a few weeks ago. Now we know for sure. No Evidence of Disease.

Less than 15% make it to NED. Less than 1% of cases like mine do so in under a year of treatment. I beat all odds. My oncologist says I have added decades to my life expectancy.

Time to celebrate!!!

We’re going to View House in Centennial. There’s plenty of parking and it’s close to transit.

The first 100 people to arrive get a free Icebreaker shot.

Let’s dance, let’s laugh, maybe let’s cry tears of joy. I am so lucky and grateful. I want to celebrate with all of you. Everyone is welcome. See you there!
