Come and meet new people in Liverpool and enjoy learning some Scottish dancing.
Whether you're new to Liverpool or just looking to meet people, this will be a whole load of fun, in good company.

A Scottish dance (called a ceilidh) is an energetic afternoon - expect to end up laughing a lot and sweating a fair bit too! Like a barn dance, each dance gets 'called'. That means, someone explains how it works and walks you through it, and then the music starts and you get to dance what you've just learnt. It's ideal for people who don't know how to dance!
Here's a video from a ceilidh in London to give you a feel for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9yId6a6JhE

You dance in groups with the other people there so you don't need to come with anyone.

It's totally free. If you'd like to, you're welcome to bring snacks or nibbles to share, but there's no need to bring anything.

If you have any questions before the event, feel free to message Alice (the MeetUp host). I'm here to help!

Some Practicalities

  1. It's free.
  2. Bring comfortable shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting warm in.
  3. It's not required but it's fun to wear 'a touch of tartan' (e.g. a tartan ribbon or something you're wearing that's got some tartan on it).

We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!
