New to town? A little older and finding it hard to find activity partners or people to go out with? Well, here's your chance to mingle.
Some of you might know me from my previous group but I needed a bit of a break from this. The goal is to be a conduit to people a little older and further along in life to socialize, try out new restaurants, enjoy festivals, explore nature. Couples and singles are welcome. I'll set some guidelines up to make it a safe space for the ladies and try to keep events welcoming to all. Suggestions are always welcome. I will start with one event a week when we have maybe 30 or so members. I made the mistake of hitting the ground running before so I will hold off until some of my old regulars or enough newbies join up.
Here are the rules/expectations, I will assume if you attend an event, you've read them
Be respectful
Understand there will be many personalities, some shy, some extroverted
Try to keep reservations up to date - if people bail and don't let me know, I still have to show up.. I won't mind if you UnRSVP, but please keep it updated so groups aren't waiting for people who don't show up.
If the group gets to a decent size, I will probably hold singles events designated as such so people know what they're getting into
Try not to be late or to let me know if you will be especially if it's someone else will be waiting on you for (think a guided tour or something)
If you have ideas for events, let me know
Don't be a creep or a bully - If I hear that you are, I am the judge and jury - Organizers talk to each other
If you have fun, tell your friends
I will not do events where I have to pay in advance for a large group but I may do events where people Venmo me and then I purchase them all (this has worked with Escape Rooms, for example)
Preferred age is 30-49. My previous group was a little vague and I had trouble keeping it tight. I may make exceptions but they will be limited and likely only for people I know from my previous group or if they're a significant other of a member.
Strange rule - Please don't bring dogs. I'm highly allergic.
I might make a Discord. It's unlikely, but we will see how this goes.
