🍽️✨ Similar Stage Social Dinner (50s & 60s) ✨🍽️

A big thank you to Dave for suggesting this one 😊

Following some great conversations at recent events, Dave mentioned that it could be nice to have a social dinner for those in the 50s and 60s stage of life, and I thought it was a lovely idea.

While our events are generally open and welcoming to adults of all ages, there can be something particularly enjoyable about spending time with people who are in a similar chapter of life. Whether it’s careers, family, travel, retirement plans, life experiences, or simply shared memories and cultural references, conversations often have a natural ease when people have similar life experiences to draw upon.

This isn’t a dating event and it’s certainly not about excluding anyone. It’s simply an opportunity to bring together people who may have things in common and would enjoy getting to know one another over a relaxed meal and some good conversation 😊

Whether you’re new to the group or have attended lots of events already, you’ll be very welcome. Most people come along solo, and dinners are always one of the easiest ways to settle in, chat naturally, and make new connections.

Once we’ve finished dinner, anyone who fancies continuing the evening is very welcome to join us for a drink nearby 🍷🍺🥂

Absolutely no pressure of course - you’re welcome to head home after dinner or stay on for another chat if you’re enjoying yourself.

💫 A quick note on RSVPs

As we’ll be making a restaurant booking based on numbers, please only RSVP if you genuinely intend to come along. If your plans change, updating your RSVP as early as possible is always hugely appreciated 😊

💫 A quick note about Meetup costs

Running the group isn’t free unfortunately! Meetup charges around £350 per year (the fees are taken every six months and charged in USD, so the exact amount varies a little depending on the exchange rate).

Since launching the group, I’ve been covering these costs personally, but as the group continues to grow I’m going to start asking for a small contribution of £1 per person, per event to help towards keeping the group running.

The last Meetup payment came out of my account in March, with the next one due in September.

Thank you to everyone who comes along, supports the group, and helps make it such a welcoming community. The £1 contribution will go directly towards covering Meetup costs and helping us continue organising plenty more events in the future 😊
