Welcome to New House Art Space Activities Meetup! This group is dedicated to bringing together like-minded individuals who are passionate about the Arts. We organise a variety of different activities and events ranging from; a variety of exhibitions, drink and draw, New House Lates, Writing Saloons as well as studios and spaces to rent. Our goal is to encourage creativity, foster art appreciation, and connect with creatives from all over the world. Bridging Fantasy Across Time: In Conversation with Sidney Sime - Opening
New House Art Space, Fays Passage, GU1 3SQ, Guildford, GBCo-curated by Jacob Heayes and in collaboration with The Sime Gallery.
This exhibition explores the rich intersection of fantasy art and gaming, bringing together diverse artistic voices in response to the iconic works of artist Sidney Sime. Featuring a selection of Sime’s most evocative pieces, rooted in myth, imagination, and otherworldly creatures, the exhibition invites visitors to journey through fantastical worlds that continue to inspire video games and gaming culture today.
Alongside Sime’s original illustrations and paintings, contemporary artists and creatives spanning emerging talent to professionals within the gaming industry present new works that reimagine and reinterpret his legacy. Set against the backdrop of Guildford, the UK’s vibrant hub for game development, the exhibition highlights how the visual language of fantasy continues to evolve and thrive within digital realms.
Launching in November 2025, this exhibition is a celebration of artistic imagination, storytelling, and the ongoing dialogue between traditional fantasy art and modern gaming.
