Spring Walk/Run on the Denver & Rio Grande Trail - West Kaysville

Details

Today’s location:

Denver and Rio Grande Trail. This trail runs from Bountiful to Clearfield. Today we will tackle a section in West Kaysville. Also, depending upon who shows up and the prevailing mood, we may or may not follow on somewhere for drinks/food.

In the immortal words of Aztec Camera, “Walk into winter, swear I’ll be there…”

Or, really it’s more like, walk into spring. At least that’s what I’m hoping. Time to warm up the muscle memory, alleviate recliner butt, and hopefully be ready to hike UPHILL by April.

Being that I’m older than dirt, I need to pace myself lest my hips and joints rebel. So it’ll just be a gentle walk the next few weeks. You are of course more than welcome to run your little Energizer Bunny ass ahead. I will not be insulted at all. Sometimes it’s just motivation enough to meet at the trailhead. And by trailhead, right now I mean flat hiking trails/parks.

During light hours, so for now it’ll be earlier, but bring your headlamps if you have them because we’re going to push the sunset to accommodate people who get off work later. But we should still finish before dark.

I’ll try to post a different one every time. Let’s make it weather permitting. I’ll leave the event up regardless. Also, we (Melissa and I) both live in Central Davis County. So most walks will be between SLC and Layton. Except Sunday morning when we will select a SLC valley location.

Might want to download the Alltrails app. It’s free and very helpful.
