Invasive Tree Removal - Coronado Historic Site, Bernalillo, NM
Details
Join NMVFO as we remove invasive trees (juniper, tamarisk, Russian olive) from the bosque at the Coronado Historic Site in Bernalillo. We will be using loppers and hand saws to cut the trees at ground level and piling the cut trees. We will also spray the remaining trunks of the tamarisk and Russian olive trees with an approved herbicide. All tools will be provided.
We suggest that you wear boots, long pants, long sleeves, work gloves, hats, and eye protection (sunglasses okay) while working. Please bring snacks, sunblock, and rain gear (if rain is expected), and water. Lunch will be provided.
Look for the signs to the Coronado Historic Site on Highway 550 west of I25. After parking in the parking lot, join us on the patio of the Visitor Center.
