Learn more about the Secular Student Alliance from Ryan Bell!
Bell is a former Seventh-day Adventist pastor who became an atheist after spending a "year without God" as an experiment. He has publicly spoken about his experiences before, during, and after this year, and he wrote about it in his blog "Year Without God" (later hosted by Patheos).
He is a regular contributor at "The Huffington Post" and, in August 2015, launched a new blog and podcast "Life After God." He currently serves as the National Organizing Manager for the Secular Student Alliance and as the Humanist Chaplain at the University of Southern California.
The SSA is a national nonprofit organization whose purpose is to educate high school and college students about the value of scientific reason and the intellectual basis of secularism in its atheistic and humanistic manifestations. They currently have over 270 campus groups nationwide.
