Welcome to the New Orleans Letterboxing Group on Meetup.com! Our group focuses on exploring the beautiful landscapes of New Orleans and surrounding areas through hunting down letterboxes. What are letterboxes? They are hidden boxes with rubber stamps and a booklet. Once you find it, you stamp your booklet with the found stamp, and use your stamp in the hidden box's booklet. We use written clues from the hiders, to find the boxes. No technology needed (other than looking up boxes and clues). There are over 100 hidden boxes in this city. The hope is to find a box every time, but sometimes they are lost due to a high traffic area or weather conditions. However, it's always worth the search to get to know an area you might not have otherwise seen. All ages and abilities are welcome! I've been letter boxing from when it first started. I can provide stamps and booklets for those in need!
