What we’re about
A walking group to show people new places that many other groups just do not promote and to inspire those who are concerned about walking alone in beautiful areas for various reasons, to enjoy the countryside and views. I have have been leading walks for 20 years or more and I can assure you that my regulars are friendly and welcome anyone, so if you have not joined a group walk before, do not worry, you should have fun. Where possible, a pub is nearby for socialising and refreshment afterwards and there is no joining fee, just a payment each time you come along at weekends. Some midweek walks are organised for free or a small fee.

PARKINGThis is important.
You can park at the Leisure Centre for 3 hours and we should be back within that time. However, it may be better to park free in the Swan Centre or Randalls Road car parks which are 10 minutes away just in case.

ATTENDANCE FEEMembers of the £10 January-June scheme FREE (You can join on your first walk) * see below for details
Guests and occasional visitors £4 (if you are a first timer, you can pay the £4 and upgrade within 7 days by paying the extra £6)
This is a harder walk than I normally offer with one sharp climb, which we may be able to do in stages, and around 7 miles long, maybe a little longer. However, the good part is that we get some lovely views and lots of peace and quiet except nature. It took me 2.25 hours to complete, less that the time it took me to see a doctor at the A & E in St. Peter's having fallen over and a short woody plant going through my hand. That is what can happen if you slip over but it s a safe walk so do not let that deter you.
We start from the leisure centre, go along the river Mole and then climb to the top of Norbury Park. There is a tea/coffee stall at the top and if it is open we will stop there for a short while to get our senses back. We then visit some lovely viewing points and make our way back through woodlands and fields via Bocketts Farm.
NO DOGS PLEASE.
You can call me on 07395 004461 if you are late or lost and please do not leave it to the last minute as it makes it harder to help you.
* The £10 scheme allows you to attend any walk led by me (when others lead it will be £4) between January 2025 and 30th June 2025. This will be about 20 walks for £10.
