For those of you fortunate enough to do the joyous walk from Shackleford earlier this year, this has the same starting point and you will know just how beautiful this area is.
I maybe a mug trying to emulate the joyous walk but with some help from Joy and our numerous reccis in the area, I have come up with this one which misses the lakes, but it is still very good and when I did it in May 2021 it went down very well.
We start off this 5.25 mile walk with open fields one side and woods on the other and then it is through woodlands, up a small lane, over farmland and open fields until we reach Peperharrow. The main building, once a very prestigeous school, is inaccessible although you can see it well but the outbuildings and barns and residential property are excellent as you can see from the picture.
Then it is back to fields, woods, past a manor, more open fields, a pond and back to the car.
It is generally flat with one short, sharp climb and several shallow climbs and descents and no stiles I think.
If the sun is out I have no doubt you will appreciate this area and enjoy yourself. And it is just a mile or two off the A3, 10-15 minutes south of Guildford so easily got to.
£4 cash please and you can call on 07395 004461 if you are late or lost.
I have booked a table for 6 people outside @1.30pm and the pub gets very busy. If you would like to book a table go to the site below as I expect more than 6 to come along and I can only book for 6.
