This is a marvellous 5.5/6 mile walk which took me 2 hours as we go through countryside until we reach Hambleden Lock which is a few hundred yards long crossing of the Thames and is one of the unforgettable parts. We then follow the Thames Path and cross fields to rejoin the Thames on the Thames path, back across the lock and return to Hambleden, a beautiful small village, by a slightly different route.

It is mostly flat with two short inclines and picturesque from start to finish so please go the extra miles and lets try a car share to save money and petrol as it will be worthwhile.

PARKING

This could be a small problem if you do not want to pay £3 for 4 hours parking. There is lots of on road parking and I may be able to get about 6 off road. As it is such a lovely village and the Church service is at 11am that there may not be lots of space, so please arrive early and the less cars the better. If you arrive late or near 11.30 am, the car park may well be the only option. If you are having a meal in the pub afterwards I may get you free parking. £19 for a Sunday roast on 10th April 2024. I HAVE BOOKED A TABLE FOR 6.

The map shows the village centre and I will hopefully be there early to direct the on road parking.

IT IS ABOUT 45/50 MINUTES FROM JUNCTION 13 ON THE M25 AND IT IS ALMOST EQUIDISTANT USING THE M4 OR M40.

There is a train station at Henley and reached from Paddington and is 4/5 miles from Hambleden. If you get a taxi from Henley, I suspect one of us will get you back afterwards.

YOU PASS A SIGN TO THE RIGHT SHOWING ROTTEN ROW AND THE CAR PARK IS 50 YARDS ALONG ON THE LEFT. WE WILL BE COMING DOWN ROTTEN ROW AFTER 15 MINUTES.
