Some of you may have joined me around Crane Park in the past but I do this regularly and when the sun is out it is gorgeous. A couple of yellow wagtails were showing off in the river Crane and a kingfisher has been around recently. After a golf course, we follow the river up to Hanworth, where we cross the road into another nature reserve, then back to Crane Park as we follow the river back on the opposite side. As the river has lots of small offshoots, often you cannot see what you saw on the way there so it is a lovely 5 mile walk made superb with some sunshine.
Shot Tower, which remembers the past of the area as a gunpowder manufacturing centre, opens at 1.30 and there is free entry. I am sure some of you will want to investigate this and the small island nature reserve next to it.
The main food menu in the pub after, gives a good selection of food with a cheaper kids portion. You can see the menu below.
