Careers in Computational Molecular Modeling: panel and discussion

Details
Join us for our next in-person event, focused on starting and developing a career in computational molecular modeling. This event will be a little different to our past events, with a panel of speakers representing a range of roles across different jobs. Short bios about the speakers can be found below. The panel will speak about:
- A brief description of their professional backgrounds and how they got to their current role
- What skills they think are most valuable in the current job market
- What skills do they think will be in demand for a job in computational modeling in 3 years from now
- Advice they would give to people interested in doing a postdoc and, if they did a postdoc, what was impactful about that for their career
- What do they wish that they had known when they were first looking for a job
- What surprised them the most about the job search process
This event will also have an extended Q&A so that the audience can ask questions.
NYAGIM is also pleased to begin a search for new members to join the organizing committee! If you are interested in helping lead NYAGIM, please find a co-organizer at this event or message a co-organizer via the Meetup page.
After the talk, we will have a networking reception with light refreshments.
Please note that this event is in-person only. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate remote attendance. This event will not be recorded.
To help with logistics, RSVP is essential by June 7th. Due to building policies, we may not be able to accommodate registrations after that date. Please check in at the lobby and then take the second bank of elevators to Schrödinger's offices on the 22nd floor. Follow signs to the classroom.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!
