The State of Deep Research

Thanks to advancements in reasoning and tool use, large language models (LLMs) such as Open AI and Gemini Deep Research are now capable of performing complex tasks that were previously the domain of human researchers. In this talk, we will define what constitutes "deep research," discuss current offerings in this area, outline various evaluation benchmarks, highlight applications and use cases, examine the strengths and limitations of deep research AI, and explore future trends.
