Citizen scientists (https://www.idigbio.org/education/citizen-scientist) are needed to help mobilize “big-data” for plant research!

Join the NYBG Herbarium staff for a preserved specimen transcription workshop. Learn about botanical collecting, and embark on virtual expeditions to document the collections of famous botanists on their forays across the country, and around the world!

This year's expeditions will focus on:

1. Historic collections by botanist John K. Small (1869-1938)

2. Plant species of the Caribbean identified as vulnerable to extinction

Stop in for an hour (or the whole afternoon) to have fun and make a difference that improves our understanding of the changing planet!
