Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Social at The Milton

Details
We'll return to the Upper East Side to celebrate the Saturday evening vigil Mass at the beautiful Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Our Co-Host will be Wayne, a long time neighbor and parishioner of this Church.
This parish was one of several established on the Upper East Side in the late 19th century to serve the Irish and German Catholics that were migrating uptown to new housing built on former farmland. The church was completed in 1892. Its stone exterior is notable for crenellated coping and turrets which echo those found on the nearby Calvary Squadron A Armory on Madison Avenue between 94th and 95th Streets. Inside, the ornate and spacious interior is decorated with lacy gothic details, galleries on three sides, and beautiful stained glass windows.

While the feast day of Our Lady of Good Counsel is in April, she's the patroness of the Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver, whose feast day is in September.
Mass is at 5:30, social to follow a short walk away at The Milton. Please RSVP and join us! Bring a friend!
