What we’re about

We meet monthly at a comfortable spot, usually in Manhattan, to share our most interesting stories of New York City history. Each member gets 5 minutes to share something they find fascinating about NYC history. You can use photos or share digital files, talk about books you've read, or, arranging first with the group, you can lead the group on a (no fee) walking tour. If you are too shy to share, you are still always welcome. We just ask you to bring your enthusiasm.

Central Park- Naumburg Bandshell- 66th 72nd St, Manhattan, NY
Hello, new friends! Our first meet-up will be at the Central Park bandshell, adjacent to Bethesda Terrace, at 1 pm., Saturday, July 5, 2025. We may sit on the grass, so feel free to bring a blanket or folding chair if you'd prefer. Bring a 5-minute share of something you've found out about NYC history, or just bring your enthusiastic interest in what others have to share. My name is Mark, and I will be wearing a boater, so you can't miss me. Not to worry if the spaces are limited--I will open it up to more people if we get too many.

To get to Naumburg Central Park Bandshell: C and B trains to 72nd Street and Central Park West 1, 2, 3 trains to 72nd Street and Broadway 6 train to either 68th or 77th Street and Lexington Avenue.

Walk to the park, and ask someone how to get to Bethesda Terrace or use one of the park maps posted at entrances.
