About us

Join our discord: https://discord.gg/sXmd8MRvmr

Join us for thoughtful, small-group discussions exploring themes that touch our lives, relationships, and personal growth. These meetups invite reflection on personal experience, shared insight, and meaningful conversation about what shapes us, how we connect with others, and how we navigate life’s complexities.

Questions might include:

  • What moments have most shaped who you are today?
  • How do you approach decisions in your everyday life?
  • What recent lesson has stayed with you?
  • What helps you stay motivated through challenges?
  • What do you value most in your relationships and interactions?

These are just examples — no preparation is needed. Just bring yourself, a willingness to listen, and openness to share.

Discussions are structured around small groups, creating space for everyone to be heard and to engage more deeply. People of all backgrounds and personality types are welcome.

## How our discussions work

  • Each meetup has a clear topic and guiding questions.
We stay with them so everyone gets the conversation they came for.
  • This is a reflective discussion, not a debate.
The focus is understanding and exploration rather than persuasion or winning an argument.
  • We speak from personal experience.
Sharing is encouraged; judging, correcting, or speaking over others isn’t.
  • We move one question at a time.
Related thoughts are welcome when they support the question we’re exploring.
  • We share the space.
Everyone has a chance to speak, and no one is expected to dominate or perform.
  • We listen generously.
Curiosity, presence, and openness matter more than certainty.
  • This is a non-political, non-outrage space.
The emphasis is on reflection and connection, not debate or escalation.

This group is not affiliated with any larger organization and is free to join.

    [Tuesday] Discussion: Relationship Styles

Brookfield Place, 230 Vesey St, New York, NY, US

Relationships come in many forms, shaped by our personalities, values, experiences, and emotional needs. They differ in how people communicate, express affection, balance closeness with independence, and even in the structure of the relationship itself, including monogamous and consensually non-monogamous partnerships. In this discussion, we'll explore the many ways people build connection, navigate commitment, and create relationships that are meaningful to them.

    1. What does a healthy relationship look like to you?
    2. How would you describe your own relationship style, and what experiences have shaped it?
    3. How do people discover what kind of relationship works best for them?
    4. What role do communication and honesty play in making different relationship styles successful?
    5. How important is it for partners to have similar expectations about the type of relationship they want?
    6. How do you balance closeness and independence in your relationships?
    7. What are some common misconceptions about relationship styles that differ from your own?
    8. What do you think influences people's preference for different relationship structures, such as monogamy or non-monogamy?
    9. How do culture, family, or society shape our expectations of what relationships "should" look like?
    10. Can people with very different relationship styles build a successful relationship together? What would it take?
    11. Have your relationship needs or preferences changed over time? If so, what influenced those changes?
    12. What qualities do you think every healthy relationship should have, regardless of its style?

These are just some of the questions we will discuss during our meetup. No preparation needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.

The meetup will be structured in a way to promote small group discussion so everyone has a chance to listen, be heard, and really dive into the discussion.

We'll arrange tables of 6 participants each. When you arrive, please gather at the main atrium - we'll be at the tables between big windows and the palm trees. Once enough people are assembled, I'll escort each group of 6 to their table to begin the discussion, and continue doing this as more participants arrive.

Each table will receive a sheet containing the topic description and discussion questions. Feel free to take a photo or refer to the event page to have your own copy handy.

The official event time is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, but some of us stay longer, transitioning into informal conversations beyond the topic. You're welcome to join any other ongoing discussions once your initial group wraps up and members start leaving.

    [Tuesday] Discussion: Wisdom

Wisdom is more than knowledge or intelligence—it's the ability to use experience, judgment, and understanding to navigate life's complexities. Wisdom often grows through reflection, mistakes, and a willingness to see beyond our own perspective. It helps us make thoughtful decisions, understand ourselves and others, and recognize that many questions don't have simple answers. In this discussion, we'll explore what wisdom means, where it comes from, and how it shapes the way we live and relate to the world.

    1. What does wisdom mean to you, and how is it different from knowledge or intelligence?
    2. Who is one of the wisest people you've known, and what made them wise?
    3. Can wisdom be learned, or does it only come through life experience?
    4. What life experience has taught you one of your most valuable lessons?
    5. Have you ever realized you were certain about something that later turned out to be wrong? What did you learn?
    6. What role do mistakes and failure play in developing wisdom?
    7. How do curiosity and humility contribute to wisdom?
    8. Do you think wisdom comes more from asking good questions or having good answers?
    9. How do emotions influence wise decision-making?
    10. How has your definition of a "good life" changed as you've gained experience?
    11. What is one piece of wisdom you've received that has stayed with you?

These are just some of the questions we will discuss during our meetup. No preparation needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.
