Hello conversationalists! The purpose of this group is to spark interesting and thought-provoking conversations about life, love, and any other meaningful topics people want to discuss.
Everyone is welcome to join - no matter your background or how introverted/extroverted you are - as long as you want to have some thoughtful discussion around interesting topics.
Each meetup will be focused on having meaningful conversations. The theme for each meetup will change but the overall discussion will be structured to promote small group discussions where everyone's voice is heard. Afterwards, we will then come back together as a larger group to share out insights.
The goal is to tackle "meaty" topics but still create an inclusive and respectful atmosphere where everyone's thoughts are heard.
This group is not affiliated with any larger organization and is free to join.

Power is the ability to influence, affect change, or assert control—over ourselves, others, or the world around us. It can be expressed through leadership, voice, knowledge, relationships, or even silence. Power can be constructive or destructive, visible or subtle, shared or abused. We encounter it in personal dynamics, social structures, and internal struggles. In this discussion, we’ll explore what power means to us, how we relate to it, how it’s gained or lost, and what it means to use power responsibly, both in everyday life and in broader society.
- How do you personally define power, and where do you see it show up in your life?
- Can you share a time when you felt powerful—or powerless? What made that moment stand out?
- What’s the difference between personal power and social or institutional power?
- How do people gain or lose power in relationships, communities, or organizations?
- What are examples of using power in a healthy, responsible way?
- What does it mean to misuse or abuse power, and what are the consequences?
- How do confidence, voice, and boundaries contribute to someone’s sense of power?
- Can power be shared, or is it always about control?
- How does your relationship with power affect the way you approach conflict or leadership?
- How do cultural, social, or gender dynamics shape how power is experienced or expressed?
- What does it mean to reclaim power after it’s been taken or lost?
These are just some of the questions we will discuss during our meetup. No preparation needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.
The meetup will be structured in a way to promote small group discussion so everyone has a chance to listen, be heard, and really dive into the discussion.

Due to the increased group size, we're making a few changes to how our discussions will be structured.
We'll arrange tables of 6 participants each, without a moderator. When you arrive, please gather at the front near the escalator. Once enough people are assembled, I'll escort each group of 6 to their table to begin the discussion, and continue doing this as more participants arrive.
Each table will receive a sheet containing the topic description and discussion questions. Feel free to take a photo or refer to the event page to have your own copy handy.
The official event time is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, but some of us stay longer, transitioning into informal conversations beyond the topic. You're welcome to join any other ongoing discussions once your initial group wraps up and members start leaving.
Please do not go directly to a table upon arrival; instead, wait at the front area by the escalator. This approach will help us manage seating smoothly and ensure everyone enjoys an organized and engaging discussion experience.
- Discussion: Home vs Place to Live875 3rd Ave], New York, NY
Join our discord: https://discord.gg/sXmd8MRvmr
Home vs. Place to Live explores the difference between having a physical space and feeling a sense of emotional belonging. A place to live can provide shelter, routine, and function—it meets basic needs. But a home carries something deeper: comfort, connection, identity, and meaning. It may be shaped by the people in it, memories made there, or how safe and understood we feel. In this discussion, we’ll reflect on what turns a place into a home, how that feeling evolves over time, and what “home” truly means to each of us.
- How do you personally define the difference between a home and a place to live?
- Can you recall a time when a space truly felt like home? What made it feel that way?
- Have you ever lived somewhere that met your needs but didn’t feel like home? Why not?
- What elements—physical, emotional, or relational—make a place feel like home to you?
- How do people contribute to the feeling of home in your life?
- Can a sense of home exist in multiple places or with multiple people?
- How does your concept of home change depending on your stage of life or circumstances?
- What role do memories and personal objects play in creating a sense of home?
- How do culture and upbringing shape what “home” means to us?
- Can a temporary or unfamiliar place ever become home over time?
- How do you create a sense of home when you feel unsettled or disconnected?
These are just some of the questions we will discuss during our meetup. No preparation needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.
