Stress is the body and mind’s response to pressure, challenges, or change. It can show up in many ways—physically, emotionally, or mentally—and while small amounts of stress can be motivating, too much can feel overwhelming. Everyone experiences stress differently and finds different ways to cope with it. In this discussion, we’ll explore what causes stress, how we respond to it, and how we can manage it in a healthy way.

  1. What does stress usually feel like for you—physically or emotionally?
  2. What are some common situations in your life that trigger stress?
  3. Do you tend to avoid stress, manage it, or work through it? Why?
  4. How do you usually respond when someone close to you is stressed?
  5. Have you ever experienced “good” stress that helped you grow or succeed?
  6. What are some ways you’ve learned to cope with stress?
  7. How does stress affect your relationships or decision-making?
  8. Do you think stress is more about what happens to us, or how we respond to it?
  9. How does your environment—work, school, home—affect your stress levels?
  10. Have you ever seen someone handle stress in a way that inspired you?
  11. What habits or changes have helped you reduce stress in your life?

These are just some of the questions we will discuss during our meetup. No preparation needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.

The meetup will be structured in a way to promote small group discussion so everyone has a chance to listen, be heard, and really dive into the discussion.

Due to the increased group size, we're making a few changes to how our discussions will be structured.

We'll arrange tables of 6 participants each, without a moderator. When you arrive, please gather next to Amazon Go. Once enough people are assembled, I'll escort each group of 6 to their table to begin the discussion, and continue doing this as more participants arrive.

Each table will receive a sheet containing the topic description and discussion questions. Feel free to take a photo or refer to the event page to have your own copy handy.

The official event time is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, but some of us stay longer, transitioning into informal conversations beyond the topic. You're welcome to join any other ongoing discussions once your initial group wraps up and members start leaving.
