AT&T 2019 Short Film Competition-$60K+ in Prizes-No Entry Fee! May 5 deadline

The 2019 AT&T Film Awards is now open for submissions - No Entry Fee! (https://attfilmawards.submittable.com). Submissions close May 5, or once we receive 2000 entries, whichever comes first.

The AT&T Film Awards is an open competition seeking imaginative, undiscovered short films from aspiring creators who want their voices heard. We are supporting and rewarding excellence in filmmaking with $60,000 in cash prizes, exposure, and a chance to take home a coveted AT&T Film Awards trophy during the Shape event on June 22, 2019 in Los Angeles.

If you’ve recently wrapped a short film and are looking for exposure, we want to help bring your passion project to life. Now in its 6th edition of the competition, we’re placing the spotlight on aspiring and underrepresented storytellers, and are seeking short films – under 20 minutes - from creators utilizing innovative and emerging filmmaking technologies such as 360 cinematic video, films shot on mobile, and CGI/animated shorts.

There is no entry fee to submit your short film -- by May 5 -- in the categories below:

BEST SHORT FILM: SHOT ON MOBILE
Awarded to the top short film shot on smartphone, tablet, or drone. Advances in mobile video technology has made filmmaking more accessible and affordable for aspiring creators. We are encouraging filmmakers to share their short films shot using mobile video technologies.
• Winner - $10,000 USD; Runner-ups (x2): $2500 each

BEST SHORT FILM: NEW FORMS OF STORYTELLING
Awarded to the top projects demonstrating new and innovative forms of storytelling, including (but not limited to):
• VR, AR and MR experiences
• 360 Cinematic Video
• Innovative use of VFX (animation, CGI, AI)
• Interactive films
• Digital comics
• Winner - $10,000 USD; Runner-ups (x2): $2500 each

BEST SHORT FILM: FUTURISTIC FILMS
Awarded to the top short films incorporating one of the following futuristic themes:
• Future of technology
• Future of entertainment
• Communications, 5G
• Sci-Fi
• Winner - $10,000 USD; Runner-ups (x2): $2500 each

BEST SHORT FILM: SOCIAL INNOVATION
Awarded to the top shorts highlighting social good as a primary theme. Examples include:
• How we come together to solve problems
• Stories that incite positivity and change
• Uplifting stories & docs
Winner - $5,000 USD; Runner-ups (x2): $2500 each

BEST SHORT FILM: UNDERREPRESENTED CREATOR
Awarded to the best project from an underrepresented filmmaker. Eligible creators include people with disabilities, LGBTQ, women, and people of color.
• Winner - $5,000 USD

All finalists selected will win a trip to the AT&T Film Awards finals at Warner Bros. Studios on June 22, 2019. Travel and hotel accommodations will be provided.
