Just a reminder of our usual rules:

** The cost of this event is $40 and is for the cost of the wines and corkage.

NOTE: Meetup has started charging a "Partner Fee" that is above and in addition to the listed price of the event. It is annoying and confusing, but there is nothing I can do about it. It comes to approximately $3 more for each RSVP. You will see this charge when you complete your rsvp and pay for the event. Sorry! Meetup+ members are exempt from this charge.

You will also have to pay the cost of your food (plus 33% for tax and tip). AND order at least two courses (i.e. a main dish and either appetizer or dessert) for your dinner. Our discounted corkage fee is based on EVERYONE ordering two courses.

Please read and understand the group's cancellation policy. If you take spot, then cancel, and no one else takes the spot, you will not receive a refund or credit. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows or late cancellations (unless someone else takes your spot). All cancellations are subject to a $5 service fee.

Please use public transportation - NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!

The Wine List - Notes will be provided at dinner:
2023 Adegas Gran Vinum Albariño Rías Baixas Selección Especial ($25) - CT 91 - From Rías Baixas located on the southwestern coast of Galicia, Spain. A refreshing Albarino to start us off.

THEN a break with tradition and a SECOND White Wine!

2020 Familia Nin-Ortiz Priorat Planetes de Nin – Blanc ($40) – CT 92.4 – From Priorat, Spain, WA 95 points, “The 2020 Planetes de Nin Carinyena Blanca is 100% Carignan White (Cariñena Blanca or Carinyena Blanc!), depending on the market because the grape is still not admitted by the appellation. It has notes of quince, fennel, green apple, pollen, dry yellow flowers and chamomile, with lots of complexity, with low alcohol (they struggled to reach the minimum required by the appellation, 13%) and with a super tasty palate. It has an almost salty finish and vibrant acidity and freshness (it has a pH of 3.2). Atypical and outstanding. This variety should be one of the weapons against climate change. 2,820 bottles produced. (drink 2022-2028)”

2017 Clos Mogador Priorat Gratallops ($70) - CT 93.5. WA 96 points.A blend of 49% de Garnaxas (Grenache), 29% Carinena (Carignan), 16% Syrah, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. NOTE: WA sometimes lists this without the Gratallops designation.

2015 Mas Martinet Priorat Clos Martinet ($60) - Dueling Pirorats! WA 96 points, "I love the 2015 Clos Martinet, which I find complex and elegant while keeping the Priorat rustic character found in the best vintages, like 2000. It's balanced, and the palate feels ethereal for the concentration it has. The tannins are abundant but very fine-grained, and there is a sense of harmony that is captivating. A great Clos Martinet."

2020 Bodegas AAlto Ribera del Duero AAlto ($45) - I really enjoy this Tempranillo, and I just had to include one for this event! WA 94 points, "The nose of the red 2020 Aalto comes blasting with tons of toasted oak, spice, smoke and more toast, ripe berries and a luxurious creaminess like the finest modern wines from the turn of the century. This is predictable but exactly what their customers are looking for, with ripe berries, generous oak and a velvety palate with volume, soft tannins and mellow acidity. It matured in French and American oak barrels for 18 months. Some things never change."
