** The cost of this event is $44 and is for the cost of the wines only.

NOTE: Meetup has started charging a "Partner Fee" that is above and in addition to the listed price of the event. It comes to approximately $4 more for each RSVP. You will see this charge when you complete your rsvp and pay for the event. Sorry! Meetup+ members are exempt from this charge.

You will also have to pay the cost of your food (plus 33% for tax and tip). Please order at least two courses (i.e. a main dish and either appetizer or dessert) for your dinner. There are very few restaurants that allow us to bring our own wine for a Zero corkage fee. We must be good guests to encourage the restaurant to continue to be generous to us.

Please read and understand the group's cancellation policy. If you take spot, then cancel, and no one else takes the spot, you will not receive a refund or credit. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows or late cancellations (unless someone else takes your spot). All cancellations are subject to a $6 service fee.

The Wines :
2021 Clos des Lunes Lune d'Argent ($23) - I'm going to start us off with this bargain white. CT 90.6. WA 87, WS 91, JD 90 points, "Bright and racy, with crushed citrus and tart melon-like aromas and flavors, the 2021 Lune D'Arget Blanc is medium-bodied, has high yet integrated acidity, and a clean, crisp finish. It's going to drink beautifully over the coming 4-6 years, if not longer. (Drink between 2024-2030)"

2009 Clos St. Julien ($40) - CT 92.9. Somewhat confusing as it is from St. Emilion, NOT St. Julien! 14.5% alcohol, equal parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot. JD 96, WA 93+ points, "
A gorgeous nose of spring flowers, blueberries, crushed rocks and wet steel is impressive and very intense. The wine exhibits density, richness, full-bodied power and gorgeous texture with perfectly integrated acidity, alcohol, tannin and wood. This is a beauty and probably the best wine ever made at this estate. It should drink well for 20-25 years at the very minimum."

2008 Château Duhart-Milon ($70) - CT 91.4, WA 94 points (5/2011), "A magnificent sleeper of the vintage, the 2008 Duhart Milon is the shrewd consumer’s wine to purchase by the case as prices do not yet reflect its qualitative resurgence. Composed of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot that came in at 13.09% alcohol, it is a surprisingly intense effort displaying a marvelous texture, plenty of black currant, licorice, unsmoked cigar tobacco and earthy characteristics, a full-bodied mouthfeel and stunning purity as well as density. Enjoy this top-notch 2008 over the next 20-25 years."

2015 Château Lascombes ($70) - CT 92.2, from Margaux, JD 92, WA (2/2018), 94 points, "Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Lascombes has a beautiful nose of black forest cake, violets, cassis and tilled soil with wafts of garrigue and potpourri. Medium-bodied, very fine and elegant with great intensity of restrained, earthy flavors, it has a long, savory finish."

2010 Château Saint-Pierre ($90) - CT 92.7, JD 97, WA 97 points, "The final blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot has resulted in a wine of great power, stature, gravitas and density. The wine has a black purple color and a brilliant nose of scorched earth, creme de cassis, espresso roast, blackberries, truffles and licorice. Full-bodied, extremely powerful, yet with abundant sweet tannin, this stunning effort should prove sensational if given 7-10 years of cellaring. It should also last for 30-40 years."
