We haven't been to OM since late January, so it is time to go back! Please join me for an 8 person, 5 wine Friday night at one of my neighborhood favorites, OM Indian Food.

OM is located at 1531 York Ave, Corner of 81st Street. They do charge a small corkage fee, which is included in the price of the event.

NOTE: Meetup charges a "Partner Fee" that is above and in addition to the listed price of the event. It comes to approximately $3 more for each RSVP. You will see this charge when you complete your rsvp and pay for the event. Sorry! NOTE: Meetup+ members are exempt.

Just a reminder of our usual rules:
* The cost of this event is $35 and is for the cost of the wines and corkage only. You will also have to pay the cost of your food (plus 33% for tax and tip). Please order at least two courses (i.e. a main dish and either appetizer or dessert) for your dinner.

Please use public transportation - NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!

Please read and understand the group's cancellation policy. If you take spot, then cancel, and no one else takes the spot, you will not receive a refund. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows or late cancellations (unless someone else takes your spot). There is also a $5 service charge for cancellations.

The Wines (notes will be distributed at the dinner):

OM Indian Restaurant – March 10, 2026
2023 Loersch Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling trocken Devon-Terrassen GG – ($35) – CT 93. Mosel Fine Wines 93 points, “The Devon-Terrassen 2023 Trittenheimer Apotheke GG, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, was made from fruit harvested on 60- 100-year-old vines in the prime terraced part of the Vogelsang and Kaulsbohr sectors on the main hill and was fermented down to bone-dry levels of residual sugar (3.5 g/l) and aged in a mix of cask and stainless-steel tank. Initially still very primary and incredibly fresh with notes of lime zest and menthol, it gradually delivers citrus skin (notably tangerine and pomelo), with lots of hot spices, white flowers, thyme, and rosemary. The wine is beautifully balanced on the palate, with finesse, lightness, and superb tension. The finish is spicy and very saline and has great energy and tension. This great dry Riesling is superb”

2016 K Vintners Roma River Rock Vineyard ($39) – CT 91.1, JD 94, WA 91 points, “A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Syrah, the 2016 Roma River Rock Vineyard opens with a freshness that allows for the juiciness of the Cabernet to be lifted by the Syrah. The wine is bold and juicy on the palate, with good concentration and showing a touch of oak and chocolate-covered blackberries with notes of tree bark and blackcurrants, finishing long. This wine will drink well for at least a decade. (2020-2032)”

2023 Kevin White Winery La Fraternité ($35) – This may be the final vintage for WA State’s Kevin White Winery. From the importer, “The backbone of this wine, as it has been for several vintages running, is Upland Vineyard Grenache (55%). Upland is a special site because it is what’s known as an anticline—basically a mountain caused by uplift driven by tectonic processes. At Upland, you have an ancient riverbed that has been uplifted 1200 feet into the air, so you get the benefits of alluvial soils *and* the benefits of slopes and high elevation. It’s an amazing vineyard on Snipes Mountain, one with a proven track record of producing some of the best Grenache in the state. The remainder is Mourvedre (37%) from reliably-excellent Olsen and also from WeatherEye, that exceptional site at the top of Red Mountain. The 8% Syrah portion comes from superstar Rhone site Boushey Vineyard, and the whole thing was aged in neutral French oak barriques for sixteen months.
Year in and year out, Kevin crafts aromatically explosive wines, and the ’23 is no different. It opens with a soaring red-fruited nose—strawberry and raspberry—with gorgeous topnotes of garrigue and peony and deep mineral bass notes. The palate is ripe (14.9% listed alc), expansive, absolutely delicious, with Kevin’s signature fruit purity and energy paired to a velvety seamless texture. The intensity and complexity, the purity and balance—this is class wine from a class winemaker, and if does turn out to be the finale for La Fraternite, this is one hell of a sendoff.”

2017 Piers Carignan "VV" Mendocino County ($25) – 100% Carigan – This is one of Garagiste’s “House Labels”, no reviews, but I’ve had it before and LOVED it. This is my last bottle. From Garagiste, “Produced in conjunction with Lioco, I made a strict barrel selection of their “old vine” Carignan to be raised and bottled as a high-end example – the first Carignan in the Piers stable.

This particular vineyard is one of the most amazing sites in Mendocino (and that’s really saying something with all the old Zin and field vines in the county). This 40-45 year old parcel remains planted on its own rootstock (no grafts!) and the resulting grapes are full of mineral tone and deep skin color and extractive bliss – all with low alcohol for a wine such as this. Aromatic, fresh and lively, this one is going to be very popular indeed!”

2019 Soos Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Terrible Beauty ($30) – I love Soos Creek with Indian Food! 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
