Just a reminder of our usual rules:

** The cost of this event is $40 and is for the cost of the wines only.

NOTE: Meetup has started charging a "Partner Fee" that is above and in addition to the listed price of the event. It comes to approximately $4 more for each RSVP. You will see this charge when you complete your rsvp and pay for the event. Sorry! Meetup+ members are exempt from this charge.

You will also have to pay the cost of your food (plus 33% for tax and tip). Please order at least two courses (i.e. a main dish and either appetizer or dessert) for your dinner. There are very few restaurants that allow us to bring our own wine for a Zero corkage fee. We must be good guests to encourage the restaurant to continue to be generous to us.

Please read and understand the group's cancellation policy. If you take spot, then cancel, and no one else takes the spot, you will not receive a refund or credit. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows or late cancellations (unless someone else takes your spot). All cancellations are subject to a $6 service fee.

Please use public transportation - NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!

The Wines :
2021 Alvina Pernot Bourgogne Côte d'Or Les Femelottes Blanc ($40) -"The 2021 Bourgogne blanc Côte d'Or les Femelottes from vines located further away from the RN74 and picked later than the Rue de Bois, is markedly different, with more fruit intensity, less malic and more harmonious. The palate is well balanced with a tangy entry, nectarine and red apples, fine weight with a judicious touch of stem ginger on the finish. Delightful." 89 Neil Martin

2019 Domaine Michel Mallard & Fils Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Valozières ($70) - Burghound 90-92 points, "More deeply pitched aromas are composed by notes of poached plum, freshly turned earth and plenty of forest floor elements. The rich, muscular and more powerful medium weight flavors culminate in a firm, rustic and sneaky long finish where the only nit is a whisper of warmth. This is a classic Valozières."

2015 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou ($44) - The 2nd wine of Ducru-Beaucaillou. CT 91.7, WS 91 points, "An alluring, seductive style, with mulled fig and boysenberry fruit carried by velvety structure, while singed mesquite, Lapsang souchong tea and warm ganache notes hang in the background. Everything meshes nicely through the smoldering finish, which has latent grip. Best from 2020 through 2032."

2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau ($85) - CT 92.7, JD 95, WA 96 points, "The 2007 Vieux Telegraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness"

2018 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Roure ($50) - CT 91.6, JD 94 points, "Lots of blackberry and black cherry fruits, peppery herbs, truffly earth, and chocolate notes emerge from the 2018 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine De Roure. This medium to full-bodied, rich, nicely concentrated red has ripe tannins, a terrific, balanced, layered texture, and a great finish. It's a classic, impeccably made Syrah that can be drunk today or cellaring for 10-15 years. I'd put it up with some of the top Crozes in the vintage. (Drink between 2020-2035)"
