The Wines :
2019 Jean et Sébastien Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Vieilles Vignes ($46) - An aged Chablis! Burghound on 10/21 gave this 94 points! Saying, "There is an interesting, if very subtle, minty character to the ripe, expressive and attractively layered nose of both white and yellow peach, nectarine and iodine along with a plethora of floral elements. There is outstanding volume to the almost painfully intense flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the hugely persistent finale. This is a serious and very powerful built-to-age effort so at least some patience will be required."

2015 Shafer Relentless ($70), Napa Valley, CA - WA 95+ points, "Blended of 90% Syrah and 10% Petite Sirah, the deep purple-black colored 2015 Relentless has a total rock-star nose of flamboyant blackberry pie, plum preserves, mulberries and licorice scents with hints of Sichuan pepper, hoisin, Indian spices and smoked meats plus a waft of raspberry leaves. Very big, rich, full and decadently fruited in the mouth, the palate packs in black fruits and exotic spices layers with a firm, rounded tannin frame and just enough freshness to carry off the long, opulent finish. (drink 2018-2034)"

2017 Rivers-Marie Cabernet Sauvignon ($75), Napa Valley - CT 92.7, JD 94 points, "The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a winner. Rocking levels of blue fruits, bay leaf, gamey meat, bay leaf, and bouquet garni notes all flow to a powerful, opulent, sexy wine that delivers fruit and texture in spades. (Drink between 2022-2045)"

2013 DeLille Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Four Flags ($55), WA State, Red Mountain - CT 92.6. WS 91, JD 95 points, "Up there with the incredible 2012, yet in a more focused, tight, backwards style, the inky colored 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Four Flags comes from four separate vineyards (Klipsun, Grand Ciel, Ciel du Cheval and Upchurch) and exhibits classic Red Mountain characteristics of black fruit, smoked herbs, licorice, graphite and dusty minerality on the nose. Possessing serious intensity, full-bodied richness, ripe, yet present tannin and a fabulous finish, it needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years, and it will drink beautifully through 2038. (drink 2020-2038)"

2020 Force Majeure Syrah Force Majeure Vineyard Red Mountain ($85) - CT 91.9 - WA 94 points, "Made with 2% Viognier, the 2020 Estate Syrah is firm, floral and spicy with notes of plum and cherry reduction with hints of oak and bitter dark chocolate. Full-bodied, mineral and expressive, the palate is juicy with a food-friendly and spicy finish that will need some time in the bottle to settle. The wine rested for 18 months in 25% new French oak, all larger format. 4,200 bottles produced."
