I can't believe that we haven't been to OM since July! So join Nathalie and myself as we return to OM for this Fall dinner! OM is one of my neighborhood favorites!

Please join us for this 8 person, 5 wine night. WE will be drinking

OM is located at 1531 York Ave, Corner of 81st Street. They do charge a small corkage fee, which is included in the price of the event.

NOTE: Meetup charges a "Partner Fee" that is above and in addition to the listed price of the event. It comes to approximately $3 more for each RSVP. You will see this charge when you complete your rsvp and pay for the event. Sorry! NOTE: Meetup+ members are exempt.

Just a reminder of our usual rules:
* The cost of this event is $45 and is for the cost of the wines and corkage only. You will also have to pay the cost of your food (plus 33% for tax and tip). Please order at least two courses (i.e. a main dish and either appetizer or dessert) for your dinner.

Please use public transportation - NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!

Please read and understand the group's cancellation policy. If you take spot, then cancel, and no one else takes the spot, you will not receive a refund. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows or late cancellations (unless someone else takes your spot). There is also a $5 service charge for cancellations.

The Wines (notes will be distributed at the dinner):
2024 Domaine Ilarria Irouléguy Blanc ($40) - A Basque wine, and a Manseng blend from the Southwest of France. 60% Petit Manseng, 40% Courbu (aka Hondaribbi Zuri), from crazy low 20hl/ha yields. Supposedly very dry. I had the 2023 and loved it.

2021 Weingut Günther Steinmetz Dhroner Grosser Hengelberg Riesling Monopollage Reserve ($60) - WA 96 points, "From 65-year-old vines on gray-blue slate that yielded only 11 hectoliters per hectare, the 2021 Dhroner Grosser Hengelberg Riesling "Monopollage-Reserve" is pure and refined on the fresh and stony nose that delivers an intense and ripe Riesling aroma as well as lemony notes of crushed slate. Rich yet refined and elegant on the palate, this is an intense and powerful yet pure, crystalline and saline Riesling with a very intense and finely tannic as well as stimulating bitter finish. This is Stefan Steinmatz's most physical wine of the vintage and reminds me very much of Molitor's bon mot "physical drinking." 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023"

2025 Domaine Tempier, Bandol Rose ($65) -Producer tasting notes: (2025 vintage) "The Bandol Tempier Rosé offers a unique blend of complexity and freshness. It has a fine structure, with no tannin. The high-quality care given to the vines and the diversity of the terroirs* produce a flavorful intensity and a strong typicity."

2015 Alvaro Palacios Priorat Les Terrasses Laderas de Pizarra ($60) - A Grenache blend, Hugh Johnson's Pocket wine book says this producer "almost single-handedly built modern reputation of Spanish wine through his obsession with quality." JD 92 points, "The 2015 Priorat Les Terrasses checks in as 60% Garnacha and 40% Cariñena that spent ten months in barrels. It has a beautiful, elegant, seamless style as well as lovely notes of black raspberries, spice box, dried earth, and obvious minerality. Silky, medium-bodied, and already drinking great, it should keep for 7-8 years. (Drink between 2018-2026)"

2020 Stipulation Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain ($40) - Is there a less expensive Napa Cab? No reviews, but the Cellartracker comments indicate it is very fruit forward, so it should go with the food at OM.
