Have you seen the news? OM, one of my neighborhood favorites is losing its lease, the building (and the neighboring one) has been sold and the plot will be redeveloped as a new high rise building. I have no idea when OM will close, or what they will do next. This is their 2nd location as this is exactly what happened to them at their original location on 2nd Ave!

So, please join us for this 8 person, 5 wine night, at what might be our last dinner ever at OM Indian. WE will be drinking 5 wines, 1 sparkling white, 2 still whites and 2 reds.

OM is located at 1531 York Ave, Corner of 81st Street. They do charge a small corkage fee, which is included in the price of the event.

NOTE: Meetup charges a "Partner Fee" that is above and in addition to the listed price of the event. It comes to approximately $3 more for each RSVP. You will see this charge when you complete your rsvp and pay for the event. Sorry! NOTE: Meetup+ members are exempt.

Just a reminder of our usual rules:
* The cost of this event is $44 and is for the cost of the wines and corkage only. You will also have to pay the cost of your food (plus 33% for tax and tip). Please order at least two courses (i.e. a main dish and either appetizer or dessert) for your dinner.

Please use public transportation - NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!

Please read and understand the group's cancellation policy. If you take spot, then cancel, and no one else takes the spot, you will not receive a refund. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows or late cancellations (unless someone else takes your spot). There is also a $5 service charge for cancellations.

The Wines (notes will be distributed at the dinner):

NV Tissot (Bénédicte et Stéphane / André et Mireille) Crémant du Jura BBF ($55) - To start us off, this NV sparkling wine from Jura. 100% Chardonnay. If it was from Champagne, it would be called Blanc de Blanc.

2022 Weingut Günther Steinmetz Neumagener Rosengärtchen Riesling Von den Terrassen ($60) - Stuart Piggot gave this 100 points! Saying, ""The greatest wines in the world are sometimes imposing and dramatic, but sometimes they are like this filigree beauty that has staggering concentration, but no less amazing refinement. What a breathtakingly perfect balance right through the titanically slatey finish, extending out to infinity. With a little aeration in glass the nose of spring blossoms, dried flowers and stone fruits expand enormously, leaving you blissfully overwhelmed"

2024 Domaine Ilarria Irouléguy Blanc ($40) - A Basque wine, and a Manseng blend from the Southwest of France. 60% Petit Manseng, 40% Courbu (aka Hondaribbi Zuri), from crazy low 20hl/ha yields. Supposedly very dry. I had the 2023 and loved it.

2019 Five Star Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon ($22) - A simple, one note WA State Cabernet from the Walla Walla Valley, it went very well with OM's food the last time I poured this.

2022 Stanley Groovy Cabernet Sauvignon A Cab Supreme ($44) - The 2nd label from the Walls Winery in WA State. This is a blend of87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. JD gave it 90 points.
