What we’re about
We are a Wine and Dine Group! We share some good (sometimes Great!) bottles of wine over food and conversation.
A few times per month, we have small group dinners, either 6, 8 or 10 people at each event. The group organizers will host dinners on both weeknights and weekends. The organizer will supply 4 bottles of wine for 6 person dinners, 5 bottles of wine for 8 person dinners, and 6 bottles of wine for 10 person dinners. Most of the time, the wines will come from the event organizer's personal collection.
The cost of each event will be for an individual's share of the wine and in some cases the wine corkage charge of the restaurant. Dinner is not included and must be paid for at the event.
To attend an event, the wine payment must be made in advance, and reservations are on a first come, first serve basis. Once you pay, refunds or credits are only available if you cancel AND your spot gets filled by someone else. All refunds are subject to a $3 cancellation fee. There is no refund or credit for no-shows.
No other outside wine will be permitted, unless prior arrangements have been made with the host, but attendees may order wine or spirits from the restaurant, at their own expense. Attendees are expected to order at least an entree and one other item from the menu, either an appetizer, a side dish or a dessert.
Along with the wine charge, everyone will be expected/required to pay for their own meal, along with a 33% charge for tax and tip.
We will be dining at restaurants that we have established relationships with, where we can bring our own wine for us to enjoy. Corkage varies from restaurant to restaurant, from Zero to $25 per bottle.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PROFILE PICTURE WHERE I CAN SEE YOUR FACE, YOU WILL BE REJECTED FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THIS GROUP.

See all- The Grand Crus of Burgundy - from le Montrachet to le ChambertinThe Leopard at des Artistes, New York, NY$225.00
In Burgundy, Grand Crus sit at the tippity top of the classification system - special vineyards classified by medieval monks that have the reputation of producing some of the finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays the world has ever tasted.
In their youth, these wines can be a little austere, but with age they can develop the most complex and intoxicating flavours.
This special night, we will sample a range of (Aged) Grand Cru Burgundies at the Leopard des Artistes restaurant.
*due to the age of the wines, I am unable to guarantee the specific condition of each bottle, so caveat emptor!

The Wines (notes will be distributed at the dinner):
2015 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc ($100) - CT 93.1, JD 97 points, "The 2015 Chevalier Blanc is as brilliant now as it was on release yet still needs 4-5 years of bottle age to show at its best. Crushed lime, lemon zest, crushed rocks, and beautiful white grapefruit notes all emerge from this racy, beautifully concentrated, focused white that checks in with the crème de la crème of the vintage. (Drink between 2023-2038)"2005 Chateau Brane-Cantenac (Margaux) - ($99) - CT 92, WA 95 points, "A sexy, style of wine from the Lurtons at Brane-Cantenac, this wine (a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc) has a stunning nose of forest floor, licorice, blackcurrants, plums and spring flowers. Soft tannin, full-bodied opulence and beautifully textured, lush richness, make for a brilliant wine from this large, 180-acre vineyard. In spite of the wine’s stunning forward fragrance and lushness, the color still looks as if it is 3-4 years old, rather than a decade. This is a big-time winner in 2005 and should drink well for at least another 25+ years. (drink 2015-2040)"
2015 Chateau Siran (Margaux) - ($30) - CT 90.9, WS 92, WA 93 points, "The 2015 Siran has a very poised and focused bouquet with pure black cherry, blackcurrant and violet scents that could only derive from this appellation. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, crisp acidity, firm tannin and toward the end it becomes more masculine in style. It is a very well-crafted Siran clearly built for long-term aging; therefore, give this 5 or 6 years at least so that it can show you what it can do. (drink 2022-2045)" A blend of 55% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot. 25% new oak plus one-year barrels.
2015 La Pointe (Pomerol) - ($40) - CT 91.5, WA 92 points, "The 2015 La Pointe is a blend of 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 was matured in 50% new oak. It has a comparatively flamboyant bouquet compared to recent vintages of La Pointe, with opulent red berry fruit, kirsch, cassis and patina of tar. The palate is medium-bodied, firm in the mouth at the moment, quite structured, the oak nicely integrated with a slightly savory finish. This is a robust La Pointe, quite spicy in the mouth with a long aftertaste. (drink 2020-2040)"
2009 Clos Lunelles (Castillion Cotes de Bordeaux) - ($33) - CT 90.7, WA 93 points, "This is a gorgeous effort, made from a blend of 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Cropped at 22 hectoliters per hectare from their clay over limestone soils, the wine displays oodles of new oak, crushed chalk, and blueberry and blackberry fruit with hints of raspberries and pen ink. It is full-bodied and layered, with a fleshy, even succulent mid-palate and a long, long finish. This is terrific Castillon to drink over the next 10-15+ years. (drink 2012-2027)"

The Wines (notes will be distributed at the dinner):
2022 JM Cellars Concrete Chardonnay Stillwater Vineyard ($48) - Another winery I visited last summer. No reviews, but here are the winemaker notes: "This is our second Concrete Chardonnay, and you will taste a creamy, but bright Chardonnay made from Clone 95 Chardonnay grapes (originating from Montrachet, France) sourced out of Stillwater Creek Vineyard. Less than 32 cases will remain after allocation. Enjoy!" 14% Alcohol. Fermented and aged 100% in a concrete egg.2010 K Vintners Merlot Stoneridge Vineyard ($43) – CT 90, WA 93 points, “First produced in 2009. Spending 26 months in 50% new French oak, it offers up a ripe, rich array of plum sauce, black olive, kirsch, cedar and gravel to go with a soft, supple and beautifully fruited palate. Medium-bodied, with an approachable feel, it nevertheless has a great mid-palate and at least a decade of longevity. Drink now-2020.” HOPEFULLY IT IS NOT PAST ITS DRINKING WINDOW!
2008 Andrew Will Champoux Vineyard ($35) – CT 91.8, WA 95 points, “The 2008 Champoux Vineyard is made up of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. It sports an inviting bouquet of sandalwood, rose petal, Asian spices, a hint of leather, black currant, and blackberry. This is followed by a succulent, plush, pleasure-bent wine that deftly conceals enough structure to evolve for 5-7 years. It offers a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2028+.”
2016 Soos Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Terrible Beauty ($27) – CT 92, My last bottle from this vintage, WA said 89+, I think it is much better than that! Here is the WA review, “Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with 8% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc blended in, the 2016 Terrible Beauty opens to a nose of black and blue fruit, with sweet expressions of dark chocolate and hints of oak spices. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is open-knit with an expressive and robust profile of juicy blackberry and blueberry skin, mocha essence and cinnamon-spice flavors across the mid-palate. The finish is clean and correct, balanced and complex, delivering pleasure and lingering flavors of juicy plum. 150 cases produced. I’m impressed. (drink 2020-2025)”
2012 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard ($120) – CT 94.9, WA 97 points, “Another classic Cabernet Sauvignon from the Golitzin's, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard comes from the dry, windswept Red Mountain AVA and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It's a big, structured effort that offers lots of minerality and dusty earth in its blackcurrants, black cherry liqueur, smoked earth, licorice and charred-meat-driven bouquet. Firm, focused and tight, this has closed down substantially since I tasted it from barrel, yet has serious concentration, lots of tannin and a great finish. It needs 4-5 years to integrate all its components, and should evolve gracefully through 2035.”
