Thank You & Looking For A New Organizer

Dear N&O Members and Friends,
First, I appreciate each of you for being part of the group. It’s been an honor to organize and to walk alongside you on your journey. Over the years, I’ve met many thoughtful, kind, and generous people. I’m especially thankful to those who have consistently encouraged me, been there with me, supported the group, and served as role models. You’ve helped shape something truly special here.

Since I followed the love of the Catskill Mountains and started this group, I’ve described the Catskills' beauty, hiked with over 150 people in the Catskills, and inspired them to become Catskills 35ers—Summiting the 37 peaks over 3,500 feet. I’m proud to share that some members have already earned their 35er certificates, and more are working toward that goal. Watching so many of you grow in strength, confidence, and appreciation for the mountains has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

Now, the Meetup organizer fee has increased to $360 per year. Organizing also requires significant time, energy, and coordination to ensure our events are successful. After careful consideration, I have decided not to renew the fee at the end of June. If you have any photos, messages, or memories saved on the Meetup page, please download them before the group closes. I will finish all events I have posted.

If anyone is interested in continuing the group, Meetup is offering a 30% discount for new organizers. I appreciate you taking it over and will support the transition and share any resources.
