Catskills Fall Foliage Camp: Giant Ledge & West Kill Mountain

Details

May everything our eyes see be filled with beauty. It's the annual time to celebrate peak fall foliage season in the Catskills!

We will hike two of the most beautiful trails: the iconic Giant Ledge Overlook with sweeping mountain views, and a peaceful hike to the charming Diamond Notch Falls in West Kill Mountain.

Giant Ledge Overlook (~3 miles round-trip), a short but steep climb that rewards us with one of the most breathtaking fall foliage views in the Catskills.
Diamond Notch Falls (~3 miles round-trip), a serene forest trail leading to a charming waterfall surrounded by golden leaves. Optional: For those who want to soak in more of the forest’s beauty, you can extend the walk further to a lean-to shelter nestled deeper in the woods (~7 miles round-trip).

We’ll set up basecamp at Woodland Valley Campground, perfectly located for exploring vibrant fall colors, golden forests, and enjoying crisp mountain air by the campfire. Campsites provided fire pits, picnic tables, nearby restroom facilities, and showers.

Fees: $42 per person for a three-day, two-night stay. Firewood costs will be split among the group. Everyone is on the waitlist until you finish paying. Payment: Venmo@Nature-and-outdoors.

What to Bring:

Hiking boots/shoes suitable for rocky terrain
Warm layers, hat, gloves
Food/snacks, water (minimum 2L per day)
