We're thrilled to have Natasha Murashev (@natashatherobot (https://twitter.com/natashatherobot)) presenting while she's in town visiting from the west coast!
Part of iOS development from day one has always been Objective-C, which came to the platform as a mature language with established patterns and conventions, honed over years of use in NeXTSTEP and Mac development. With Swift, these type of conventions are still emerging, and the language is so flexible, it's hard to know where things will end up.
In "The Many Faces of Swift Functions", Natasha will expand on her recent article in the September 2014 issue of objc.io (http://www.objc.io/issue-16/swift-functions.html). One of the exciting and terrifying aspect of Swift is how much variety it brings to the mix. Natasha take a look at the many ways we can play with Swift functions and discuss potential best practices for each.
Natasha Murashev is an iOS Engineer at Capital One and secretly a robot. Natasha writes about iOS and Swift on her blog, NatashaTheRobot.com (http://natashatherobot.com), and has recently started a weekly Swift Newsletter (http://swiftnews.curated.co).
We're so glad to be back at the gorgeous XO Group Inc (http://www.xogroupinc.com) offices this month. Thanks to Bec for setting things up! While the space is quite large, seating is limited to around 75 spots, so consider arriving a little early if you don't want to risk standing.
