Day Hike to Breakneck Ridge

Details

Hey everyone,

This is a great opportunity to meet fellow OCR enthusiasts and a fun way to get out of the city for a day and enjoy a challenging, but doable hike (we'll all stick together and help each other out when necessary), and get some mountain terrain under our feet.

We'll take the 8:56AM Metro North Train from Harlem 125th Street to Breakneck Ridge. The train drops off about 200 meters from the trailhead.

Depending on how long the hike takes, we'll catch either the 3:09 or 4:13 train back to the city at ~6:00.

Round Trip Train Cost: $29 (You are responsible for purchasing your own train ticket).

What to bring:

Comfortable trail shoes. You can get away with running sneakers, but trail shoes with a little "bite" in them are always a better.

Lunch and Water: We'll stop near the top to eat overlooking a beautiful view of the Hudson Valley.

For those with energy left over we can go out for a post hike social back in the city (yea, in your hiking clothes - you're OCR folks after all :)

***DON'T BE THAT PERSON THAT REPLIES THAT YOU'RE DEFINITELY GOING AND THEN BAILS WITHOUT UPDATING YOUR REPLY. Nobody like that PERSON and this is a friendly group. All smiles and obstacles :) In all seriousness, when people bail on free events it makes it difficult to offer free events in the future.

Any questions, send us a message.

Looking forward meeting some of you.
