Stage and Screen Meetup
Details
I’m a struggling stage and screen actor myself (admittedly more stage), and would love to connect with other creatives! With Hollywood going through great ups and downs, Broadway musicals struggling and straight plays maybe gaining momentum, AI threatening to horn in, not to mention typical competition to get a gig, it’s a good time for industry creatives to be banding together. After all, this is the age of creating your own work; can’t wait for Netflix to come calling. During this meetup, let's get to know each other talking about our experiences as stage and screen creatives, discussing working in front of or behind the camera, or onstage and backstage, discussing our goals, and hopefully building professional relationships. In fact, here are some questions you might want to think about:
-Do you have an agent or manager?
-How has the relationship changed with your representation, if at all?
-What do you like about working in front of or behind the camera, or working in theater?
-When writing, what role does the current sociopolitical climate play?
-How many principal roles did you book on TV or theater roles did you land last year?
-Have the challenges of directing film or theater changed?
Let's discuss these questions and more!
