Title: Understanding the Risk to Bitcoin from Quantum Computing: A mathematical walk through of Shor's algorithm and how it can be used to attack the Eliptical Curve Cryptographic functions used in Bitcoin.
Bio: Steve Yalovitser is the co-founder of the NYC Quantum Computing Meetup. He has previously been a speaker and panelist at a number of Quantum Conferences, as well as presenting at the meetup on several topics. His background includes thirty years of experience in building and running high performance computing systems in support of trading and risk in a number of major banks. He has previously built and launched a major service in AWS called Amazon FinSpace and launched features for Amazon Managed Blockchain, and Bedrock. He is currently a principal engineer at AWS AnnapurnaLabs working on the Neuron software stack.
