A book club for reading Shakespeare plays!
Twice a month, we will read a different play and meet and discuss. All are welcome! No specialized knowledge is necessary.
Every other event is in person alternating between spots in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Please come to each event having read the play.

Welcome to our bookclub for Shakespeare plays.
This is our second event in our four part series on Hamlet. We will be reading the Tom Stoppard play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead
During this in person meeting we will discuss the play as well as two short excerpts from critics about Hamlet: G Wilson Knight and TS Eliot. The excerpts can be found here and here.

Welcome to our bookclub for Shakespeare plays.
This is our third event in our four part series on Hamlet. We will be reading the 2022 Pulitzer Prize winning play Fat Ham by James Ijames. The work is a modern day retelling of Hamlet.
During this online meeting we will discuss the play as well as two short excerpts from critics about Hamlet: Stephen Booth and James Joyce. The excerpts can be found here and here.

The Public Theater’s Mobile Unit celebrates its 15th year with the beloved romantic comedy MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. Directed by Rebecca Martínez (Mobile Unit’s The Comedy of Errors), this new take on the classic tale of love, deception, and misunderstandings blends Spanish, music, and Shakespeare’s timeless wit. Mobile Unit will visit parks, correctional facilities, and more locations in each NYC borough free of charge as part of The Public Theater’s commitment to making great theater accessible to all. The performance is free, but tickets are at a first come first serve basis. We will be arriving at Bryant Park at 5:45pm to get good seats.
