René Clémént, best known for directing Purple Noon- the first screen version of Highsmith's The Talented Mr Ripley, and Alain Delon's first film-, won an Oscar for Forbidden Games (Les jeux interdits). This worldwide arthouse sensation depicts the horrors of war from the perspective of a German girl who befriends a French boy. This is showing at Film Forum and after the movie we can have a coffee nearby or better still a drink and discuss. There are several good places in the area where we could go.
