Abstract:
Colum Store Indexes are a great tool to handle large amounts of fact data in SQL Server. But only if used correctly. Join me on my journey on implementing a clustered column store index correctly. As usual I will also explain the how and why it performs that way. The talk will cover all phases: Inception: How to get the data in, maintenance and manipulation: how to change data, retrieval: querying the data and ast but not least archive and purge.
Bio:
I am a SQL Server veteran for 25 years and Data Platform MVP for over 9 years. I spend every day working with SQL Server pushing it's limits and finding now ways of making processing data more efficient.
