Summer is a season we all look forward to—filled with sunshine, long days, and warm nights. It's a time to feel free and alive!
Whether we are adventuring or unwinding, summer offers countless opportunities to feel happy: outdoor activities in the city or in nature, sunsets by the water, patio dining and BBQs, joyful reunions, new connections and long conversations under starry skies.
But we know that, just like summer, the seasons of our lives—and the happiness they bring—don’t last forever. And yet our search for true and lasting happiness continues.
We seek it in relationships, in comforts and pleasures, in both familiar and new experiences. We hope to find it through goals and achievements—big and small. And often, we do feel happy…but only for a while.
It leaves us wondering:
- Even when we get what we want, why does our feeling of happiness fade .. sometimes slowly, but often quickly?
- Even in the "summer phases" of our lives, why does a deep sense of fulfillment still feel out of reach?
- Is there a path to lasting peace and happiness—even in the face of inner and outer challenges?
These questions—and others about the nature of happiness, fulfillment, and purpose—are not new. They’ve been asked (and answered) by the great ancient philosophers for centuries, and their insights are more relevant today than ever!
This summer, join us and take moment to pause, reflect, and explore the nature of happiness—in a way that’s both refreshing and uplifting!
In this practical and interactive workshop, through a thought provoking talk and engaging group discussions, we’ll draw on the timeless wisdom of the Stoic philosophers to uncover simple yet profound tools for cultivating true and lasting happiness—no matter the season of life you are in!
🪷 Limited spots available – purchase your ticket now on Eventbrite.
No prior knowledge of Philosophy or Stoicism needed—just bring an open mind and heart to explore new perspective to put into practice in your daily life!
At the end of this workshop, we will also share with our flagship 12-week Applied Philosophy course which starts July 15 → https://www.know-yourself.ca/course
We look forward to seeing you!
